In order to qualify for free government funded loft insulation, you must meet both of the following criteria:

You are the property homeowner

Someone in your household claims one of the following qualifying benefits:

  • Child Tax Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income Related Employment & Support Allowance
  • Pension Credit Savings Credit
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
IMPORTANT: If you do not meet both of the above criteria, loft insulation will not be an available option as an upgrade for your home.

However, you may qualify for other upgrades – we will check what other upgrades you are eligible for.

There have been some changes to past eligibility criteria, with disability benefits no longer on the list. Check out the full criteria for ECO4 funding below:

  • Income based Jobseekers allowance (JSA)
  • Income related Employment & Support Allowance
  • (ESA) Income Support (IS)
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Working Tax Credit (WTC)
  • Child Tax Credits (CTC)
  • Universal Credit (UC)
  • Pension Credit Savings Credit (new eligible benefit under ECO4)
  • Housing Benefit (new eligible benefit under ECO4)
