What is the Government Warm House Discount?

Due in part to Covid-19 and the ongoing repercussions of the pandemic, many energy suppliers have agreed to make a few measures in relation to their policies with regards to individuals who are struggling – ensuring their customers can get emergency or additional credit to ensure everyone who needs warmth has it.

In order to qualify for the scheme, there are two options in place. These two options are:

● If you have Guaranteed Credit element of Pension Credit: This is known as the core group.

● If you qualify as low income and meet your energy supplier’s criteria for the scheme: this is known as the ‘broader group’.

How you apply for the Warm Home Discount Scheme will depend on this.

How do electric storage heaters grants work?

‍The grants are created in order to be beneficial for those on low income who have inefficient electric heating. The grants are passed on to installers and companies that have committed to delivering the government’s ECO policy.

The total that you receive will vary depending on several points. If you are eligible, this may include the type of property you live in. This is so factors can be taken into consideration such as the size, if you have solid walls or cavity walls, and how insulated your property appears to be. Often, the larger the energy savings you’ll be able to get with a new installation, the greater the grant you are likely to receive.

At UK Energy Management (NE) Ltd, we work alongside utility companies to provide heating funding for low income and vulnerable households. If your heating bills are increasing at the minute and you’re in need of heating upgrades, we’ll assess your eligibility and fund the installations that you need to remain warm and comfortable.
