In order to qualify for a government funded free heating grant, you must meet both of the following criteria:

You are the property homeowner

Someone in your household claims one of the following qualifying benefits:

  • Child Tax Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income Related Employment & Support Allowance
  • Pension Credit Savings Credit
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
IMPORTANT: If you do not meet both of the above criteria, a free heating grant will not be an available option as an upgrade for your home.

However, you may qualify for other upgrades – we will check what other upgrades you are eligible for.

Could I qualify for a FREE heating grant?

Through the ECO scheme, UK Energy Management Group Ltd provides free heating grants to households that are in need of an upgraded heating system but cannot afford to fund it themselves. In most cases, our heating system upgrades will take the form of replacement electric boilers or electric storage heaters. We only install quality storage heaters that offer high heat-retention capabilities and are fully programmable to your home’s requirements. These use only off-peak electricity, meaning they are a low-carbon way of ensuring your property is efficiently and effectively heated around the clock whilst reducing the overall cost of heating your home.

ECO4 Government Funding

Under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme, you could be eligible for a grant designed to cover some or all of the costs associated with upgrading your heating system or insulating your home. The scheme was launched in early 2013 and is currently in its fourth and final incarnation, ECO4, which is available to everyone in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
