What Is The Free Storage Heating Grant?

Modern, energy-efficient storage heaters are typically expensive to install, especially for those who may be on low incomes, out of work, elderly or vulnerable. Am I Eligible?
There are a handful of specific requirements one must have in order to qualify for the free storage heating grant and these are as follows:
● You’re currently a homeowner, or, you rent a property from a private landlord who has given their permission.
● Your primary source of heating is electricity, (e.g. old electric heaters, electric panels or radiators).
● You’re in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits.
As part of the government’s current ECO4 Scheme, in order to qualify for a free electric storage heater installation, you must be currently in receipt of at least one of the following benefits.
● Income-Based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
● Income Related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
● Housing Benefit
● Child Benefits
● Child Tax Credits (CTC)
● Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
● Pension Credit Savings Credit
● Universal Credit (UC)
● Working Tax Credit (WTC)
● Warm Home Discount
In certain circumstances, you may still be eligible to qualify for the free storage heating grant via the Flexible Eligibility (LA Flex) in the current ECO4 Scheme even if you are not in receipt of any of the above benefits.
